| THE SOD FOUNDATION IS DEDICATED TO THE RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION OF GUTHRIE OKLAHOMA'S HISTORIC DOWNTOWN AND RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS. |
We are a 501c(3) non profit organization.
It is our goal to preserve and protect Guthrie's
status as a National Historic Landmark. In
addition, Guthrie is the largest contiguous
historic district on the National Register of
Historic Places having over 1400 buildings that
qualify within the directives and standards of
the National Park Service which oversees US
historic districts.
It is vital in retaining these honors that the
standards for historic districts are maintained.
These buildings must not be torn down, but
instead, rehabilitated for new uses following
the guidelines set by the National Park Service.
